Polish quartet Błoto has always resisted fixed aesthetics, favoring experimentation and instinct over genre boundaries. With Zmiany / Schimbări, the band opens a new chapter—one shaped by a creative residency in Bucharest and collaborations with musicians from the underground Future Nuggets scene, led by producer Ion D. The project marks the beginning of a series of releases on Astigmatic Records throughout 2026.

Recorded at Ion D’s N-am Studio, the sessions remained rooted in Błoto’s signature collective improvisation but expanded through new surroundings and collaborators. Local electronic producer Plevna adds shimmering synthesizer textures, while the warm, open atmosphere of Bucharest encouraged long, free-flowing late-night recordings where the label “jazz” quickly lost its meaning.

Set against the shifting urban landscape of the Dorobanți and Floreasca districts—areas shaped by both history and modern gentrification—the music reflects themes of transformation, exchange, and shared experience across cultures.

Released as a 7-inch single and digital format, Zmiany / Schimbări captures Błoto in motion: exploratory, collaborative, and unbound by expectation.
