After a three-year break, Błoto returned with a surge of creativity, recording a wealth of new tracks at Studio Pasterka. Following two 7” singles and the Grzybnia LP, they now complete this chapter with the album Grzyby (Mushrooms).
Vinyl collectors quickly grabbed all copies of Szlam / Ścieki and Bakteria (featuring DāM-FunK), while Grzybnia nearly sold out in six months—setting a record for Astigmatic Records and earning a Fryderyk Award nomination. Although it didn’t win, Błoto claimed a Fryderyk for “Godzina W,” featured on the WAWA album dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising.
Grzybnia symbolized collective spirit, much like mycelium connects plants in the forest. Yet, society remains divided—walls are built instead of bridges. Grzyby aims to highlight the interconnectedness fungi represent, advocating for dialogue and unity. The album is split into two parts: Side A features medicinal mushrooms like Wrośniak, Maczużnik, Chaga, and Soplówka, each with healing properties. Side B introduces Pleśniak, a toxic mold linked to penicillin discovery. Grzyby is pressed on 12-inch vinyl at 45 RPM, enhancing its deep, club-oriented beats. Limited to 1,000 vinyls and 500 CDs (with bonus tracks), pre-orders start May 2, 2025, exclusively on Bandcamp. Mixing and mastering were done by Kwazar, with visuals by Sainer.
