Different Rooms is an experimental album created between late 2024 and early 2025. It blends live improvisational sessions with Jeff Parker and Josh Johnson from 2023 with newly composed pieces, all brought together through a collage-like production process.

Unlike its predecessor, Recordings from the Åland Islands, which aimed to transport listeners to distant places, Different Rooms seeks to meet the listener in their own environment. Urban field recordings from train platforms, city streets, and living spaces create a sonic bridge between everyday sounds and musical composition.

Granular synthesis and tape manipulation are key techniques used to express emotions in unexpected ways. The album is structured palindromically, with motifs reappearing and being reimagined throughout the sequence, creating a fluid connection between the tracks.

Different Rooms will be released on June 20, 2025.
