Rooted in the spiritual jazz tradition, Ancient Infinity Orchestra brings together a collective of musicians united by a shared interest in improvisation, community and the transformative power of music. Led by double bassist and composer Ozzy Moysey, the Leeds-based ensemble draws inspiration from the expansive works of Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane and the rich legacy of socially conscious jazz.
It’s Always About Liberation embraces this spirit through richly layered arrangements, expressive horn passages and a deeply organic rhythmic foundation. Flowing between meditative, almost ceremonial moments and powerful collective improvisations, the music creates a sense of openness and shared exploration. Warm melodic themes emerge from intricate instrumental conversations, while the interplay of strings, percussion and horns adds both emotional depth and a remarkable sense of movement.
There is a strong communal character to the recording, reflecting the orchestra’s belief in music as a space for connection, freedom and collective expression. It’s Always About Liberation feels both timeless and contemporary, carrying the spiritual energy of jazz’s past into a vibrant and deeply human musical present.
