Tartelet steps into 2026 with Medusozoa Vol V, the fifth instalment in its annual compilation series, focusing on the label’s deepest and most laid-back transmissions.
Spanning 20 tracks, Medusozoa Vol V brings together select cuts from Tartelet mainstays including Doc Sleep, Max Graef and Space Ghost, alongside previously unreleased material from newcomers and emerging artists. The result is a wide-ranging snapshot of the label’s quieter, more introspective corners.
The compilation pulls from across the globe: Icelandic beatmaker Intr0beatz delivers low-slung, hip-hop-inflected funk, while Mexico’s Denise & Hermanito contribute delicate, vocal-led ambience. Italian artists are represented by Carl OG’s dub excursions, The Telamons’ live experimentations and Black Loops’ jazzy broken beats, while New Zealand’s Flo Wilson brings tonally rich, classical-leaning ambient textures. Elsewhere, Nelson of the East drifts into lush downtempo romanticism, Max Graef revisits Rivers Of The Red Planet with a digi-dub-informed Ancient Mix of “Running,” and Glenn Astro resurfaces a sweet slice of jazz funk originally released on a limited 12” eight years ago.
Like previous volumes, Medusozoa vol V covers a broad spectrum of sounds while maintaining a warm, cohesive atmosphere — music designed to carry listeners through the darker months in the northern hemisphere. e.
