With Drum Seeds, Berlin-based drummer and producer Peter Gall takes a sharp turn from the expansive jazz of his award-winning Love Avatar. Originally conceived as a pure drum record, the project grew from hours of grooves, layered percussion, and rhythmic experiments into a much broader solo work, with Gall adding vintage synthesizers, keys, programming, and atmospheric production.

The result moves freely between jazz, ambient, breakbeats, hip-hop, krautrock, and electronic music. Raw, physical drums remain at its core, while analog synths and immersive sound collages bring echoes of Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, and Caribou into Gall’s distinctly jazz-rooted language. Rather than a display of technical virtuosity, Drum Seeds is driven by groove, texture, and the stories that rhythm itself can tell.
