Recorded at Copenhagen’s SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst during the Surreal on Paper exhibition, Live At SMK Fridays captures Shatter Hands in an unusually spacious setting. Joined by Viktoria Søndergaard on vibraphone, Flavia Huarachi on flute and vocals, and Sofie Birch on tape recorder, percussion, zither, and sampler, the quartet transforms material from A Show of Hands Vol. 1 into something looser and more atmospheric.

Shatter Hands’ sampler-based beats remain at the center, but the museum’s concrete-and-glass acoustics pull the music away from straightforward grooves toward ambient jazz, broken beat, and exploratory improvisation. Three previously unreleased compositions also point toward A Show of Hands Vol. 2. Released on Ouvo, it’s a warm, spacious live recording where beatmaking and acoustic improvisation meet naturally.
