Quantic first met Ethio-jazz pioneer Mulatu Astatke in 2004. Five years
later, they were reunited at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex in LA for the
Mochilla/VTech production of Timeless, where Mulatu played with a full
orchestra. Quantic’s new DJ set, dubbed “Addis to Axum” and comprised
almost entirely of music discovered during his 2004 trip to Ethiopia, is
available now as a free download.
