“FOOD” is the upcoming sixth studio album by American recording artist Kelis, due to be released April 21, 2014. It’s her first album to be released under Ninja Tune, which she signed to in 2013. Kelis describes the album as “a kind of unspoken lovefest”. The new album is entirely produced by Dave Sitek and was all recorded at his house in Los Angeles. The announcement on Ninja Tune’s website said that “the record mints a sound that’s rootsy without ever being self-consciously retro, that pitches live horns and gospel-y organ against electronics, that for all its classic soul and funk influences, couldn’t have been made any time but now.” Pre-order now on iTunes or direct at Ninja Tune.
